- BIG CROWDS COME OUT FOR THE 60th ANNUAL LAS POSADAS — More than 800 people showed up for the 60th annual Las Posadas in Old Town; The Las Posadas procession celebrates Mary and Joseph’s search for a birthplace for the Christ child and culminates with a live nativity scene in front of Casa de Estudillo.

El major lugar para ver el Festival De Luces de La Bahía de San Diego y show de fuegos aritificiales es abordo del histórico trasbordador Berkely. El árbitro se instala a bordo de la embarcación, los barcos pasan al frente y hacen un corto descenso para que los jueces los observen detalladamente. La celebración empieza a las 5:00 de la tarde y continua hasta las 9:00 de la noche el domingo 19 de diciembre. Este evento incluye una deliciosa cena estilo buffet y servicio de bar. El costo es de $50 por adulto y $25 por niños. Esta tradicional festividad decembrina es patrocinada por el grupo benéfico Star of India Auxiliary. MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego Announces Winter Media and Tech Camps for Middle School Youth
Middle school youth entering 4th through 9th grade are invited to join MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego (MACSD) for fall media and technology camps at their DIY New Media Lab in North Park.
MACSD is providing a special, 3 day camp (Monday, December 20th-Wednesday, December 22nd), that combines elements of audio/video production, stop-motion animation, YouTube profile design, and other creative projects using art and technology. Camps are tailored to the individual skill sets of campers, regardless of previous experience.
“Parents still work full-time during the school breaks,” said MACSD’s Lab Program Manager, Morgan Sully. “Aside from providing a stimulating and creative space for parents to leave their kids during the school holiday, our camps provide much needed academic and artistic enrichment during the ‘downtime’ of school district vacation.”
Camps for middle schoolers start Monday, December 20th and run from 8:30am-3pm, until Wednesday, December 22nd and cost $100. Extended camp hours run from 3pm-5pm and cost an extra $35 for the duration of the camp. Scholarships and sibling discounts are available.
