<p><strong>TUSTIN</strong><strong>, CA- </strong>As the clock struck at 5 p.m. on March 8, 2011, the private reception was on in honor of Meg Whitman and her contributions to the Hispanic business community. Hispanic 100 sponsored a cozy and private invitation only event at the home of host Don and Wendy Garcia.</p>
<p> As the early night got started with a cocktail reception including the customary chips and robust salsa. The ambiance of the evening continued with the savoring aroma of the carne asada and chicken being served fresh on the outdoor grill by several stupendous chefs cooking and serving fine Latino dining at its best.</p>
<p> As Meg Whitman was introduced currently as one of the Board of Directors for Hewlett Packard and several other business ventures.</p>
<p> Meg Whitman spoke about her interest to invest in small businesses and one of them is Zipcom; Teaching America and Charter School Movement and others.</p>
<p> Meg also shared that she is not immediately going back into politics. However, she said, “I can’t walk away from the state. K-12 kids are vital so it is important to stay involved and concentrate on education, jobs, etc.”</p>
<p> A question was asked from the audience and said, “Do you have any comments on Jerry Brown?” Meg humbly said, “He deserves to be successful. I want him to be the same too. In other words, my philosophy is do unto others as others do unto you.”</p>
<p> Another one asked if she would run again for office? Meg said, “Yes! I would do it again, absolutely.”</p>
<p> Meg then looked around and shared with the majority of Latino guests and said, “It is a privileged to work with you. Great thing! Many of you are friends. I deeply am grateful for our friendship.”</p>
<p> Meg ended with a philosophical note and said, “You care about this state. You are grateful for California. I want to include Latinos. You should be proud of what you have accomplished.”</p>
<p> Notable attendees were Honorable Rosario Marin, former U.S. Treasurer; Honorable Charlene Zettel former State Assemblywoman attended from San Diego; Honorable Robert Pacheco former State Assemblyman from the City of Walnut, Regina Ong-Garcia, Entrepreneur from StreamlineREO and many others.</p>
