Este evento de Las posadas como captura la esencia de la Navidad con sabor a México?

El sábado 8 de diciembre del 2012, El brillo del espíritu navideño mexicano llega a C3 Performing Arts Center con una POSADA NAVIDEÑA. DanzArts-Sabor México, estará debutando con un programa especial “Las Posadas” la cual es una fiesta tradicional Mexicana, este evento abrirá con los típicos cantos de Posadas y los bailes de nuestra compañía de Folklórico Sabor México, así como la participación de los niños de la Academia DanzArts Sabor México, Asimismo, continuaremos con la presentación de nuestros invitados especiales Ballet Folklórico Tierra Caliente. Sera una noche muy emotiva, llena de bailes, música y comida tradicional de dicha fiesta, como son los buñuelos, tamales, churros, el delicioso ponche de frutas y muchos antojitos mas. Esta fiesta culminara con la tradicional Piñata Mexicana.

Como se complementan la danza y el espíritu navi-deño? La Danza y la música despiertan el espíritu de la Navidad y la unión entre la familia en esta temporada El show está colmado de acentos típicos de la temporada, como son las tradicionales Posadas y una festiva escena de piñata, y a la vez dando una gran producción teatral de baile digna del rico patrimonio cultural de México. La música del baile y el cante llenaran el espacio, creando una atmosfera de festejo y felicidad de acuerdo con el espíritu navideño.

St. James Music Series in La Jolla presents SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK, live on December 9,2012

St. James by-the-Sea in La Jolla, Calif., a beloved venue for classical and contemporary live music performance, presents the internationally renowned a cappella ensemble SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5pm.

SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK has been a vital and innovative presence in the music culture around the world through the group’s commitment to create music out of the rich textures of African American legacy and traditions. This talented ensemble possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the sounds of blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, Hip Hop, ancient lullabies, and jazz improvisation. Sweet Honey’s collective voice produces a sound filled with soulful harmonies and intricate rhythm.
The group’s sole San Diego-area performance this season will be at St. James by-the-Sea, 743 Prospect Street, La Jolla, on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5pm. All tickets are $25.

San Diego Civic Youth Ballet Brings The Nutcracker to Balboa Park

WHO: San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, the resident classical ballet school of Balboa Park since 1945.
WHAT: San Diego Civic Youth Ballet’s annual production of the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker.
WHERE: The historic Casa del Prado Theatre located in the cultural heart of Balboa Park at 1800 Village Place, San Diego, CA, 92102. The theatre is adjacent to the Casa del Prado Building and near Spanish Village and The Natural History Museum.
WHEN: Shows run from December 9th, 2012 through December 22nd, 2012, with Educational and Girl Scout shows held on the 12th and 13th, respectively.

Take an extraordinary journey to the magical Land of Sweets with Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. Witness the epic battle between toy soldiers and mice before being whisked away to an enchanted land of falling snow, waltzing flowers, and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Set to the timeless music of Tchaikovsky, this classic holiday production will become a cherished family tradition.

Escondido Choral Arts to Present “Holiday Joy” at Trinity Church

A holiday concert will be offered by the choral organizations of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 845 Chestnut St. (at Ninth Ave.), Escondido. “Holiday Joy” will feature joyous songs of the season performed by the Center Chorale, a 40-voice adult ensemble under the direction of Dr. Joe Stanford. They will be joined by the 50-plus singers of the Center Children’s Chorus, directed by Dana Stanford.

Tickets for the “Holiday Joy” Concert at Trinity Episcopal Church may be purchased by phone 760-294-7218, through a Center Chorale member, through the “contact us” form on the Chorale website (www.escondidochoralarts.com), or at the door the day of the event. National City’s 5th Annual Christmas @ Brick Row- Tree Lighting Ceremony
