SAINT PATRICK’S DAY – CANCER AID RESEARCH FUNDRAISING DINNER

Don Diego Post is hosting a fundraising dinner for it’s MEMBERS AND INVITED GUESTS, in celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day. This members fundraising celebration is scheduled for Saturday – March 16, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at Don Diego V.F.W. Post 7420. A donation of $ 10.00 will entitle each member and guest attendee to a Corned Beef Dinner Plate, which includes cabbage, potatoes, carrots, dinner roll, dessert and coffee.

VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE ( VSO) – COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO

Members of Don Diego Post 7420, would like the local veterans community to know that the County of San Diego Veterans Service Offices, is a key advocate for the veteran community. They strive to help veterans, dependents of veterans, and their survivors to obtain ALL of the benefits they are due from the Federal, State and local sources. These eligible benefits include veteran benefit counseling; assistance with claim preparation, submission and follow-up; they initiate and develop appeals when appropriate; help with public assistance; veteran affairs medical care; Homeless issues; and certification of discharge papers (DD-214) for filing claims with the VA.

Dr. Tom Splitgerber, the County Veterans Service Office Director, states that the County Veterans Service Office is accredited by the following veteran organizations: American Legion, American Veterans (AMVETS), California Department of Veterans Affairs, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Hearts (MOPH).
