The 35,000-member California Medical Association has called for the legalization of marijuana, the largest medical group in the nation to advocate that position. They said legalization was the best way to ensure that proper research on the drug was conducted. The decision marks a major political victory for pro-legalization forces. Hey vatos sooner or later this going to happen…

Two professors, one from the U of Michigan and the other from the U of Wisconsin, did a study that concluded students who grew up in bad/poor neighborhood the chances of them graduating from high school were greatly diminished. What a couple of pendejos… they needed to waste time and taxpayer money to study something everybody already knows. Why don’t they study how to fix the problem instead of telling us what we know, do something worthwhile….

No ‘Occupy Wall Street’ types in Hollywood where Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith hosted about 200 people at the “first ever Latino fundraiser” for Obama. Only $5000 per “Hispanic” or a cool million dollars.

Hispanics still have a way to go, earlier in the day Obama was at a fundraiser with Magic Johnson and actor Will Smith. The President spoke to guests sitting at four tables, 8-10 seats per table at a cost $35,800 per person.

On the political grape vine a new name has surfaced, Daniel Cacho, a young Republican is exploring the idea of running against Mary Salas for CV city council. The Cacho family has a long history in the city and own a mobile home park in the city. So far Salas, is the only one who has announced her candidacy for the seat.

Speaking of Chula Vista City Council unless you go to the council meetings you wouldn’t know that Councilperson Pamela Bensoussan has been absent from several meetings. She is on sick leave battling the big C. We wish a speedy recovery.

Ted Kennedy of Chula Vista, a prolific letter writer who had a unique way of see things, you might have seen his letters in La Prensa over the years, passed away last week. May he rest in peace!
