On June 29, California Small Business Development Centers will present the Next Steps for Small Business event to San Diego small businesses in a no-cost, professional development road show bringing entrepreneurs the latest tips and techniques to maximize their access to capital, practical social media marketing, international sales and selling to the government.
The event is the fourth of 10 that will be held throughout the state in 2011 aimed at helping small businesses focus on growth strategies that can help them build their business. A number of high profile speakers from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Yelp, Vertical Response, Grow Biz Media, Wright On Communications, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the U.S. General Services Administration will be featured. In 2010 California Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) provided more than 50,000 small businesses with free consulting and low-cost seminars and conferences throughout the state.
“The Small Business Development Center is committed to helping San Diego’s economy by creating events that provide attendees with business opportunities and contracts they can pursue immediately,” said Sudershan Shaunak, director of the North San Diego County SBDC.
The event will be held on June 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Diego Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley located at 7450 Hazard Center Drive. The program will include complimentary lunch and networking opportunities as well as face-to-face interaction with SBDC business advisers, government and corporate buyers.
“For so many small businesses owners, their life stops at the threshold of their storefront and getting opportunities to grow and improve can be far and few between,” said California SBDC Chair Kristin Johnson. “We are really excited to bring these experts together in one place to dig deep into areas that businesses say they need help.”
Admission to the event is free, but space is limited and registration is required. To sign up or for more information about the event or to see an itinerary, go to www.californiasbdc.org/nextsteps/sd or call (707) 826-3919.
