Cuarta Barbacoa de Comunidad Anual

    Qué: Dos Iglesias se unen para tomar atrás nuestra comunidad por el poder del Espíritu Santo. la Iglesia de Capilla de Fe de Dios en Cristo y San Pablo Metodista Unido Churh patrocina esta Barbacoa de Comunidad de ALIMENTO LIBRE.

    Cuándo: el sábado, 7 de agosto de 2010 de las 11:00 a las 4:00.

    Dónde: John F. Kennedy Aparca,  4801 Océano Ve el Bulevar, San Diego, CA 92113

    ¿Por qué?: el objetivo de nuestra barbacoa de comunidad es dirigirse a necesidades de comunidad con respuestas y soluciones de reducir Preocupaciones de Salud y Violencia Juveniles y Domésticas. Además, habrá rezos, recomendaciones, altavoces motivacionales, presentaciones por líderes cívicos, entretenimiento vivo, y mensajes espirituales de pastores locales.

    Los premios, los saltadores, la pintura de cara y las actividades recreacionales serán proporcionados para los niños.

Kid’s Fishing Derby

    Michael Farrior, International Game Fish Association Trustee along with the founder and President of the United Pier and Shore Anglers of California, Ken Jones, announced that two new IGFA Young Angler’s Tournaments have been scheduled for the upcoming summer and fall.

    The first event will be held on August 7, 2010 at Ocean-side Pier and the second event will be held at the Goleta Pier on October 2, 2010.

    Kid’s Fishing Derby—Oceanside Pier, Saturday, August 7, 2010. Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Age grouping from 6 to 16; any child under 6 is part of the age 6 group.

    Hot dogs and drinks will be provided to anglers and their families.

    According to Farrior, “We provide everything from food to bait and tackle, with prizes awarded to contestants through the generosity of numerous individuals, businesses and angling clubs. The young anglers gain experience in handling tackle, identifying inshore species, DFG regulations, good sportsmanship and camaraderie.”

National City to Participate in National Night Out Against Crime

    The City of National City is proud to be participating in National Night Out Against Crime for the sixth year. Events will kick-off at the Municipal Pool in Las Palmas Park (2260 Newell Street) on August 3 at 6:00 p.m.

    The National City Police Department will have static displays. National City Fire-fighters Association Local 2744 will be grilling an All-American fare of hamburgers and hot-dogs for the first 300 participants. Music will be provided by Magic 92.5.

    The pool will be open for a special free session of night swim. Children can bring in used toy guns to exchange for a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Target Gift Card, in an effort to promote non-violent games. Additionally, the NCPD will be giving away 75 anti-theft devices for the Top 25 Most Often Stolen Vehicles in San Diego County (details at www.nationalcityca.gov).
