Passage of Proposition G would prohibit the City from funding or entering into public works contracts that require agreements with labor organizations or payments on behalf of employees to labor organization benefit plans or other trust funds. Proposition X Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee to Fill Vacancies
The South Bay Union School District (SBUSD) is currently seeking applications from qualified individuals interested in serving as a parent representative and community-at-large representative on its Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee. The District is seeking a parent or guardian of a student enrolled in the District who is an active member in a parent-teacher organization such as the PTA or School Site Council. Born in a small village where farmers wear their hats while plowing their cornfield with their oxen, woman wear their colorful attire garnished with a rebozo (shawl), Gabriel Martinez takes the audience into the indigenous lifestyle through his presentation and writings. Using his resources as a journalist, professor of indigenous language (Zapotec, spoken by the people of Oaxaca, Mexico), presenter for Native American cultural celebrations as well as childhood testimonial, Martinez creates a lasting impact with his demonstration about indigenous attire and poetry reading. NALAC Accepting Applications for 10th Annual Leadership Institute
The National Association of Latino Arts and Culture is currently accepting applications for its 10th Annual Leadership Institute. The NALAC Leadership Institute is the premier professional development program for the Latino arts field. This highly-acclaimed training takes place at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, from July 5-10, 2010.
