MESA, Az. — Mesa voters got their say in a historical election that resulted in the recall of Republican Senator Russell Pearce, also known as the architect of SB 1070.

Pearce conceded defeat in a brief press conference in the City of Mesa surrounded by politicians, friends and controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

As a Democrat, predictably, I find all of the presidential candidates and the policies they support anathema to everything I believe this country needs right now. Their “solutions” are regurgitated failures that have been tried before and are a big reason President Obama inherited an economy on the brink of another Great Depression.

Recently, the GOP campaign consulting firm Ayres, McHenry, and Associates released a new poll sponsored by the Resurgent Republic —a GOP research and public affairs organization— and the Hispanic Leadership Network, an outreach effort of the right-of-center American Action Network. Both groups work for the election of additional Republicans to Congress and the defeat of President Obama.
