<p>On August 26th, 1920, the amendment guaranteeing the right to vote for women officially became part of the U.S. Constitution.</p>
<p>The anniversary of this historic achievement deserves recognition, celebration, and a huge “thank you” to those brave women who faced beatings, starvation, torture and false imprisonment so that women today might have the privilege of casting a ballot. It is ninety-five years later and unfortunately, equality continues to elude many women.</p>

<p>Our nation’s continued recovery from the worst recession in generations has given us a lot to celebrate. We saw over 3 million jobs created in 2014, the best year since the end of the Clinton Administration. We’re experiencing the longest streak of private sector job growth on record. Our businesses created more than 200,000 jobs in fifteen of the past seventeen months — the first time that has happened since 1995. In 2009, there were seven job seekers for every open job. Today there are fewer than two.</p>

<p>It has been a busy year and part of the reason for writing sporadically is because activism has become a priority in my life.</p>
<p>I wished I could have written more about my work in the past year, perhaps in the future I will, but in Mexico, we experience “Momentum” in our advocacy work this past year. To give you an idea, I briefly describe some of the projects that kept me busy in Mexico City since June 2014:</p>
