<p>Thanks to Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court, news about Latinos in U.S. media during the first half of this year wasn’t dominated by Mexican drug violence or the H1N1 outbreak that paralyzed Mexico City.</p>
<p>Those were the second and third most important Latino stories in U.S. media. But coverage of Sotomayor surpassed both, becoming one of the most important stories in the country.</p>
