TEZOZOMOC SPEAKS

Republicans say they are going to spend $3 million in recruiting 100 Hispanic leaders to run for office. First question is if they are leaders do they really need recruiting and what does the $3 million get you, what are they going to do run ads/infomercials on becoming a Hispunic candidate???

Chula Vista city council is considering going from part time to full time councilmembers, ¿por qué??? All that does is cost the city more money. Probably a movida to justify a bigger staff.  How about opening city hall five days a week, instead of the four days they are open now???

Speaking of Chula Vista, Rudy Ramirez went to Baja as mayoral representative for the mayor’s conference; we assume Mayor Cox asked him to represent, and declared Baja safe for tourist??? Not exactly sure if we totally agree with Ramirez, not as bad as some would have us think, but not exactly “safe”!!!

Ramirez sure likes to use his title as vice mayor, he no longer calls himself councilmember. Guess he is trying to sound mayoral, as he prepares to run for the mayors seat…

One last Chula Vista shout out: District elections is the hot topic, but we’re not sure why? The city seems pretty well represented with the members distributed throughout the city and minority empowerment doesn’t seem to be an issue, so exactly why is district elections a priority??? How about saving the taxpayers money and using it for something more important….

Who really needs to be talking district elections are the school boards where the majority of the board members all come from Bonita…. Talk about a lack of representation in the poor and southwest communities….

Mary Salas has announced that she is running for Chula Vista city council and will kick-off her campaign with a fundraiser on the 29th at a friend’s home in National City???? Qué pasó Mary, you would think your first big event would be in the city you want to represent???
