The Third Annual Festival of Beers

Proceeds to Benefit Two Nonprofit Organizations Supporting Local Music and Craft Brew Communities

Bringing together local brewers, food and music, the City-Beat Festival of Beers is back for its third year to raise funds for San Diego Music Foundation and San Diego Brewers’ Guild.

Featuring food, local music and more than 25 breweries, this year’s festival will take place Saturday, May 1 from noon to 6 p.m. on El Cajon Boulevard, in front of the historic Lafayette Hotel, located at 2223 El Cajon Blvd. This year’s CityBeat Festival of Beers will occupy the new event area in response to event sell-outs the past two years.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the event and they will include 10 beer samplings, food vendors and live local music throughout the day at the Bar Pink-sponsored stage. Breweries from across the region will be highlighted, and performances from San Diego bands The Styletones and Cover Me Badd will be featured.

“We’re looking forward to another highly successful event and encourage everybody to purchase tickets early since the festival has sold out the past two years,” said Kevin Hellman, publisher of San Diego CityBeat and president of the San Diego Music Foundation. “This is a great opportunity to come out and sample some of San Diego’s best local brews, enjoy local music and support two local nonprofit organizations that work to support San Diego’s growing music and craft brew communities.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.citybeatbeerfest.com for $30. Tickets cost $35 the day of the event, pending availability. The first 500 people to purchase tickets will also receive an official souvenir taster cup.

This year’s event participants include the Blind Lady Alehouse, Hamilton’s Tavern and The Live Wire. These area pubs will be on site at the festival sampling some of the local brews served in their establishments. In addition to San Diego CityBeat, this years event sponsors include 91X, www.Yelp.com, www.DiscoverSD.com, www.govavi.com and www.PubQuest.com.
