<p> What do Charlie Rose, Google and Twitter creators and the richest men in Mexico have in common? They are all expected to be part of an ambitious 15 day-long event hoping to position Tijuana as a vibrant modern city in the forefront of social and industrial innovation.</p>
<p> The event is named just that: Tijuana Inovadora (<a href="http://www.tijuanainnovadora.com">www.tijuanainnovadora.com</a>) is starting on October 7th, with the Mexican President attending the inauguration before a gala dinner with important businessmen.</p>
<p> The event will be held at an iconic forum, Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT) and will host a series of forums, discussions and Expos in regards to technological innovations, sustainable development, philanthropy, medical tourism, electronic and software development, as well as cinema and e-commerce.</p>
<p> Four Nobel Peace Prize winners will be keynote speakers Robert Aumman (Economy 2005), Mario Molina (Chemistry 1995), Robert Grubbs (Chemistry 2005) and Al Gore (Peace 2007), as well as Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Mexican super-businessman Carlos Slim and journalist Larry King.</p>
<p><strong>Tijuana</strong><strong> will be bubbling in October </strong></p>
<p> With the Tijuana Innovadora as the main attraction the city of Tijuana will be hosting at least two other simultaneous events. One is the street art festival Festiarte, starting off at CECUT and then becoming a “moving show” held in a series of small venues around the city (<a href="http://www.entijuanarte.com/">http://www.entijuanarte.com/</a>) where artists will become intervened within a series of buildings.</p>
<p> The other attraction will be the October Beer Festival, a six year old event hoping to help consumers stray from the commercial-beer path into the world of small, artisan breweries that has fascinated drinkers all over the world.</p>
<p> The Beer Festival will be held at Revolution Street on October 8th and 9th with a $9 cover fee which includes 3 beer tastings.</p>
<p> Among participating breweries include some from Germany, Brazil, US and various Mexican states, including Port Brewing, Cervecería Minerva, Primus, Victory Brewing, Duff and Beer Box Boutique.</p>
<p> The cherry on the already appetizing Tijuana cake will be a first attempt to make a massive dance performance simultaneously to a Julieta Venegas song. The dancing moves by Lux Boreal dance troupe, are easy to find on You Tube (<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7QrIXTuR28">http://www.youtube.com/watc…;) and are now being practiced non-stop in schools, community centers and even local TV stations.</p>
<p> Overall the Fall of 2010 seems to bring a breath of fresh air to a city known for vice and violence, a reality, that at least a million residents of this city, hope to leave in the past.</p>
