<p>A Tijuana Councilman, being held in San Diego for purportedly laundering money, could be set free for the remainder of his trial after a California judge reduced his bail this week from the $5 million requested by the prosecution to $300,000.<br>
Luis Torres Santillan, age 37, is accused, together with thirteen other suspects, of being part of an organization that smuggled more than $10 million dollars from Mexico into the U.S., revealed one of the prosecutors assigned to the case.<br>

<p>Tras 10 meses de actividad, un operativo contra el robo de vehículos y otras actividades ilícitas en el Condado de San Diego ya ha dejado 42 acusaciones ante el gran jurado, esto de acuerdo con la Oficina Fiscal del Condado de San Diego.<br>
La operación en cubierto, realizada por el Equipo Regional Contra el Robo Vehicular (RATT, por sus siglas en inglés), en cooperación con varias agencias de la ley locales y la Agencia Federal de Alcohol, Tabaco, y Armas de Fuego (ATF, por sus siglas en inglés).<br>

<p>A 10-month crackdown on vehicle theft and other illicit activities in San Diego County has yielded 42 grand jury indictments according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.</p>
<p>The Undercover operation was conducted by the Regional Auto Theft Team (RATT), in cooperation with several local law enforcement agencies and and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.</p>

<p>President-Elect Donald Trump has agreed to pay $25 million to put an end to the class-action lawsuit filed against his defunct university, in a settlement reached this week before the U.S. district Court for the Southern District of California.<br>
Under the settlement, nearly 6,000 students will be eligible for refunds of at least half – and possibly all – of the money they spent on the real estate seminars.<br>
