Critters and Cocktails Coming to Chula Vista Nature Center

 Furry friends from around the globe have decided to cool off this summer with a Critters and Cocktails evening soiree at the Chula Vista Nature Center Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sea World and Busch Gardens Animal Ambassador Julie Scardina will entertain the crowds with her exotic animals, complete with upclose personal interactions and eye-opening education. 

 Especialmente diseñadas para padres que se encuentran en estos momentos en proceso de divorcio o Padres divorciados quienes en la actualidad tienen muchos problemas tratando de resolver conflictos, se encuentran cordialmente invitados a participar en un programa de asistencia gratuita que consiste en 12 semanas de “Clases para Padres para evitar un divorcio que sea altamente conflictivo”. Este programa ha estado disponible para padres que hablan el idioma inglés desde hace ya 3 años, pero recientemente se recibió un fondo de apoyo (Grant) para la población hispana.

Voz Alta Fundraiser. Opening Reception July 18, 2009 at 4:20pm Hosted by Agua Dulce at Voz Alta Project. The fund-raiser will include live music by the legendary group Agua Dulce, well know for their musical community service efforts are going to play two sets of original soul, latin, salsa, funk music as they do best, With Special Guest DJs’ “FAM ROYAL CREW” DJ Hippo, DJ Myson King, DJ J Blow. Fundraiser will also include new art work from the Voz Alta Collective. Food, Drinks, and affordable Art. All money raised will go directly to keeping  Voz Alta alive.

Taste of Bonita 2009 Highlights Local Restaurants for a Good Cause

Bonita, CA – The annual Taste of Bonita is back for 2009, and some of the area’s top restaurants are serving up their best once again. It’s the return of calories for a cause! The Taste of Bonita 2009 food festival will be held at the Chula Vista Golf Course from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. The Chula Vista Golf Course is located at 4475 Bonita Road in Bonita across from Vons. Sixteen restaurants from Bonita, Chula Vista, Eastlake, and National City are scheduled to participate, offering samples of food from their menus.
