Comprehensive immigration reform now

   In an interesting turn of events, President Obama went from there is little desire to tackle immigration reform to when he came out in favor of immigration reform and for that to take place as soon as possible.

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Independence Day, celebrated on the Fourth of July, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. But who will be responsible for the future of our independence?</p>
<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Latinos are the fastest growing population in the United States and by the year 2050, nearly one in three Americans will be of Hispanic origin.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; An upcoming grassroots summit on climate change in Bolivia could mark a pivotal event in the fight against global warming.</p>
<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Bolivian President Evo Morales was a leading voice of dissent at the global climate talks in Copenhagen last year. He accused wealthier countries of shutting out poor nations from negotiations and of offering only token, nonbinding reforms. Poor countries and small island nations deemed the accord a death sentence.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; This July, San Diego City residents will have a rare and historic opportunity to help shape the future of representative government at City Hall. With minority voter empowerment in the balance, it is critical that every San Diegan learn the importance of “redistricting.”</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; The great American educator, John Dewey, repeatedly made the case that students did not fail, schools failed students. This principle is one of the canons of Chicana/o or La Raza Studies. For the most part, the American public schools wrote them off as failures, blaming it on their culture-called them culturally deprived or culturally disadvantaged.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Abel Moreno can’t forget the day last December when he and his girlfriend were pulled over by Officer Marcus Jackson.&nbsp; After ordering them from the car, the Charlotte cop fondled Moreno’s girlfriend and arrested Moreno when he intervened. The department fired Jackson and charged him with sexually assaulting six women – including Moreno’s girlfriend – all while on duty.</p>

   It is hard to believe this will be my third year without my beloved Papito! I think about him constantly and I miss him every single day. I’m still waiting for it to get “easier” as people said it would.
