<p>In recent months, law enforcement corporations throughout the U.S. have been receiving reports regarding vehicle thefts using a “mysterious device.”</p>
<p>“The mystery device named &nbsp;Relay Attack works through a modem that hacks, or copies, the signal and code emitted by a vehicle’s keyless entry remote, allowing thieves &nbsp;to use the device to open doors and start the vehicles,” said Roger Morris, NCIB Chief Communications Officer.</p>

<p>Law enforcement officers in California may soon be recording the ethnicity of people they stop, according to regulations announced this week by State Attorney General Kamala Harris.</p>
<p>The measure is part of approved Assembly Bill AB-953, aimed at monitoring and preventing stops based on racial profiling.</p>

<p>Kevin L. Faulconer was sworn in for a second term as San Diego’s 36th mayor at an inauguration ceremony held at the historic Balboa Theatre, on Monday, December 12.</p>
<p>Faulconer completed former Mayor Bob Filner’s term after Filner vacated&nbsp;his position in 2013 amid multiple allegations of sexual harassment. Faulconer embarks on his first full four-year term after being reelected in the June primary.</p>
