Starting on January 1st, ten new/updated regulations issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles will start going into effect. One of these regulations will mainly affect Baja California residents applying for a California Driver’s License.

On Saturday January 16, LA Rooted a collective group of activist completed its bike trip from Los Angeles to Tijuana to promote it’s use of bicycles as well as the creation of safe spaces for the LGBTQ community of color.
Rio Contreras, member and co-founder of the Los Angeles based collective explained the origins of the organization and the goals of the trip down to the border.

This Monday we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day, commemorating the civic rights leader’s birthday with a national holiday, which to most people, unfortunately, really just means another day off from work or school.
