Relay for Life Automobile and Bike Show in Old Town April 3

Proceeds go to American Cancer Society

    Fiesta de Reyes and Old Town San Diego State Historic Park are hosting an automobile and bike show with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life campaign. Set for Sunday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the state park’s central plaza, the show will feature exotic and low-rider cars and custom show bikes from a variety of clubs throughout Southern California and Baja.

Selected students will participate in 10-week internship program

    The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the National Hispanic Press Foundation (NHPF) are now accepting applications for the coveted NAHJ/NHPF Ford Blue Oval Journalism Internship program. Sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, this internship opportunity supports Latino journalism students interested in careers at Hispanic or Spanish-language media publications.

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox to Speak at USD

    On Thursday, April 7th at 4:00 p.m., former President of Mexico Vicente Fox will deliver the keynote address at the 15th Annual Sister Sally Furay Lecture in the Joan B. Kroc Theatre. The event is sponsored by the University of San Diego’s Trans-Border Institute and the Center for Community Service Learning.

“Las Mañanitas” Celebrating the Legacy of Cesar Chavez

   Buoyant voices and the smiling faces of young drummers, will mark the birthday of Cesar Chavez as the celebration breakfast of the Cesar Chavez Service Club comes to life on March 25th at the Jacobs Center. The theme of the event is Las Mañanitas, joyous birthday celebration.

    The Chula Vista Charitable Foundation has released its 2011 Grant Guidelines. The focus for this first grant cycle for The Foundation is Health & Human Services – Access to Care.
