<p>A high turnout between 72 and 77 percent was expected this Election Day in the region by the San Diego County Registrar of Voters. Throughout the county, large crowds were seen at most of the 1,552 polling places in the County, including at the Registrar’s office located in Kearny Mesa.<br>
The 2016 elections are over, and, as the dust settles so we can look across the horizon, the country looks nothing like the troubled land depicted by Donald Trump during his campaign to capture the presidency.
For the past year, Trump denounced foreign trade as the death of American manufacturing that led to, as Trump but it, the theft of domestic jobs.
On immigration, Trump declared that illegal immigrants were roaming the streets committing crimes and killing Americans.

<p>After the unexpected victory of Donald Trump in the presidential elections, protests have erupted across the United States and California. San Diego was no exception and protests have been held in several locations over the last couple of days.<br>
One of the earliest demonstrations in the county occurred Downtown in the late hours of Tuesday night. The largely unorganized assembly saw a large group of citizens march through Downtown San Diego’s streets with no notable incidents.<br>
