<p><strong>WASHINGTON</strong> – One week after President Barack Obama’s announcement of his new gun control proposals, a House Democratic taskforce held a briefing to discuss what legislative steps Congress could take to promote gun safety while respecting the Second Amendment.</p>

America, home of the free and the land of opportunity- only if you’re a legal citizen, of course. Working with an array of students from different backgrounds, we have seen our fair share of issues. However, one issue continues to go unspoken: undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S as children.

In 2008, San Diego County had the third largest population of undocumented immigrants in California. An estimated population of about 200,000, many immigrants made the trip across the border before well before their 18th birthday, making the American Dream their only way of life.

<p>Es hora de quebrar la piñata. El Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego estará celebrando su 20 aniversario en marzo, y recientemente anunció el diseño del poster que conmemorará sus dos décadas de promover el cine latino en el Condado de San Diego.</p>
<p>El poster seleccionado, que fue anunciado el 9 de enero en un evento en Noel-Baza Fine Art Gallery, es muy apropiado para la ocasión. Contiene una colorida piñata con forma de cámara de cine, creada y fotografiada por el diseñador Juan Luis Garcia.</p>
