Endorsements for the Chula Vista Elementary School District

Chula Vista Elementary School District was not embroiled in the recent corruption scandals. The issue with CV Elementary has been the lack of democracy. There was a time in recent history when every board member had originally been appointed to his/her seat. Prior to that, four of the five board members all lived in Bonita. This insidious Old Boy’s network has gone on far too long, and for the first time in many years we have an open election where true representation can be voted upon.

Seat 1:

Sweetwater Union High School District, Board Race

The Sweetwater Union board was at the epicenter of the recent scandals of bribery and quid-pro-quo relationships between contractors and board members. The ending result was that four of the five board members were forced off the board by a judge, as they pled guilty to lesser offenses. The fifth board member is not running for re-election which makes all five board seats up for election

Trustee Area 1:

There are three candidates for this seat: Burt Grossman, Arturo Solis, and Jerome Torres.

STATEWIDE:

Governor • Edmund G. “Jerry” Brown, Democratic: Jerry Brown has done a great job in his first term.

Attorney General • Kamala D. Harris, Democratic: Harris has done an admirable job as Attorney General and is on the right side of the issues such as gun control, pro-marriage equality, anti-death penalty.
