<p>Soccer fans in the San Diego &amp; Tijuana megaregion have a reason to celebrate as Major League Soccer (MLS) announced this week that the 30th team franchise has been awarded to San Diego.</p>

<p>The new team will play at San Diego State University's new Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley along with SDSU's Aztec football team and the San Diego Wave women's pro soccer team.</p>

<p>In a bid to offset diminishing revenues from gas taxes caused by the increasing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has signed into law Senate Bill 505 (SB505) which raises the annual vehicle registration fee on EVs by $200 in a move to ensure that all drivers contribute fairly to the maintenance and improvement of Texas' transportation infrastructure.</p>

The region has been watching and waiting as disgraced San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher clings to his political life after he announced he will resign amid allegations of sexual harassment from at least two women.

Fletcher made a surprise announcement late on Sunday, March 26th, that he was seeking rehab treatment for PTSD, trauma, and alcohol abuse, and ending his campaign for State Senate in next year's election cycle.

<p>Street cruising has been banned in National City for more than 30 years, but that may all change soon after the City Council repealed its 1992 ban this week, clearing the way for a final vote later this month.</p>

<p>Cruising was banned over residents' complaints of traffic and noise mostly along Highland Avenue south of Plaza Blvd. Lines of cars used to drive up and down the busy street, especially on weekends.</p>
